Welcome to the Adapting to Life as a New Parent training course.
Welcoming a new child into your life—through birth, adoption, or fostering—is a major milestone. It brings a mix of emotions, from joy and excitement to uncertainty and worry, all of which are completely normal.
Preparing early can make a big difference. This course helps you look after your own wellbeing so you can transition into parenthood with greater confidence and ease.
While mental preparation is important, physical changes can be harder to anticipate. Experiences vary, from postpartum recovery for biological mothers to adjusting to new routines and sleepless nights for adoptive and foster parents. With many new parents getting limited sleep, having the right support and strategies is essential.
Relationships can also shift during this time. Open communication and strong teamwork between partners become more important than ever.
This course guides and supports you through these changes, helping you prepare, adapt, and build confidence in your new role. With a focus on support networks and practical techniques, it helps you manage both the challenges and rewards of parenting.
This concise course is 15 minutes and includes the following section:
- Life as a New Parent : Explore the fundamentals that come with Parenthood. You will learn about health & wellbeing, financial planning and parent-baby bonding. Use tools to plan and manage developmental milestones.
By the end of the Adapting to Life as a New Parent course you will understand how to care for a baby, maintain your own wellbeing and understand the importance of strong support networks.
